Take Your Dreams a Bit Further

Today’s family topic is not one that I can say that I came up with, although I wish I could. If you follow the Law of Attraction, you will understand about the Vision Board, or Dream Board, a tool that will help you focus on your goals in a positive manner. My first encounter with a vision board was through a post written by Summer at Wired for Noise. Summer’s post explained about how she uses her vision board as a focus center to accomplish her goals.

Summer’s post inspired me to spread this idea a bit further. Anyone can use the concept of the vision or dream board to further their goals. Using basic supplies like poster board, a glue stick, scissors, and magazines, gather your thoughts, sit down and begin thinking things through.

What do you want to accomplish this year? Maybe lose weight, become a better cook or baker, maybe land a dream job. Now, open up you magazines and go to town. Find a scale for weight loss, maybe cut out a picture for a new cookware set, you can even cut out a picture of an outfit you would like to wear for your new interview. See? Now you’re getting the picture.

Once you have cut out your pictures, glue them to your vision board and if you want to add some more color, maybe decorate with markers; make it look however you want - this is your vision. Now you have a visual of all of your goals and as you reach each one, mark it off. You can update too, don’t forget. As you find that there is a new goal for you, find a picture and add it to your board.

The best thing about this project is the whole family can participate. Each member can create their own vision or dream board. Things they may want for school or an event, or even for their birthday. Once everyone is done, you can go around the group and let everyone tell their ‘vision’ story. Another great idea is once everyone is finished telling their stories, come together and create one for the family. What family vacation would you like to take? Is their a dog in your future?

Now you know exactly what your goals are, now begin to take the steps to accomplish them. Good Luck!

It’s a really cool new way to make motivational vision boards more hi-tech! I use them for weight loss so it pumps me up. It’s so much easier than having to find the pictures, cut them out, glue them down and then you don’t know what to do with it afterwards.
